The Society's interest in education stems from a belief that knowledge of science and mathematics is important for an individual's success in life.

Our unique position at the heart of the science community, combined with an excellent reputation in the education community, means that we can provide influential, unique policy advice, and support activities that bring together the best of science and education for the future of young people.

 

  • Have you got a great idea for a science project for kids, but need some funding to make it happen? The current round of Partnership Grants has just closed but if you are part way through an application, or just haven't sent it in yet then don't worry! There will be a second round in February/ March 2009, contact us for more information.

  • SCORE have launched their new website... see www.score-education.org for more details!
  • The Royal Society is working on a series of State of the Nation reports looking in-depth at science and mathematics education in the UK. The second reportScience and mathematics education, 14-19, was published in September 2008. More details and a downloadable copy of the report may be found here.
  • This year's Summer Science Exhibition was a great success, and you can now access all the exhibits online.
  • Our weekly update on education news issues, Education in the News can now be viewed online too.
